Ashura Festival

Ashura Festival was celebrated at Ridgefield Community Center last Sunday where more than 200 people have enjoyed the event. HUTACA has restored a forgotten thousands year old tradition. Ridgefield Mayor Anthony Suarez, Elmwood Park Mayor Richard Mola, and Bergen County Sheriff  Leo P. Macguire has attended to the event with their families. While adults were enjoying delicious Ashura (Noah’s Pudding) with its mysterious 5000 years old recipe, kids were having fun with carnival games, face painting and many other activities. Best of Ashura contest, where four different recipes competed with each other, attracted significant attention. It was a “must see” moment where young contestants showed their fast eating talents at the Ashura eating contest.
