HUTACA 2nd Annual Ashura Festival was celebrated at Ridgefield Community Center at which more than 200 people have enjoyed the day. Festival started with a short film explaining importance and meaning of the Ashura (Noah’s pudding) and the Day of Ashura. Best of Ashura contest, where five different recipes competed with each other, attracted significant attention. All contestants received a certificate of appreciation and a prize. Ashura eating contest is finalized with a new world record! Kids enjoyed the day with the carnival games that were just for them. They had chance to win books, DVDs and PS3 games. Along with Ashura, refreshments and authentic Turkish desserts we served added extra sweetness to our Festival. Program ended with live Turkish Marbling (Ebru) show.
