4th New Jersey Turkish Festival Bigger than Ever

4th Annual New Jersey Turkish Festival, organized by HUTACA, took place in the Memorial Park in Clifton with over three thousand people. Our honorable guests were mayor of Clifton Mr. James Anzaldi and Turkish New York Consul Ceyhun Erciyes. Participants enjoyed Turkish folk dance show, authentic foods and crafts. Kids had lots of fun too! Sumo wrestling and boxing were only few of the entertainment activities prepared for them. The special concert by famous Turkish singer Murat Gogebakan was the highlight of the day.

"Road to University" Seminar from HUTACA

Hutaca has organised a seminar that is very important for the young students who are about to take or has taken SAT exam already. The seminar is given by the "Education Counselor and SAT Specialist" Tolga Hayali. Mr. Hayali also covered the subjects such as "How to choose a major", "How do we keep our GPA high?" "Scholarships" .Students also had a chance to ask him questions after the seminar.

TULUYHAN UGURLU PIANO RECITAL

After months of waiting , finally the world famous Turkish piano virtuoso Tuluyhan Ugurlu met with his fan with the contribution of HUTACA.  Within the "Holy Temples of The East" concerts series, he stopped by St. Paul's Church in Englewood, New Jersey. REUNION DINNER

On July 9, 2005, we had a reunion dinner at the HUTACA Headquarters with the attendees of our May 2005 Turkey Trip and Third Annual Friendship Dinner. Everyone seemed enthusiastic about getting together shortly after the trip to commemorate our memories and review pictures we had taken of the trip. We also invited the Turkish American families who introduced HUTACA to our Turkey trip guests in the first place. They had a chance to hear about our guests’ experiences in Turkey first hand.

DISCOVERING NIAGARA FALLS WITH HUTACA

TURKEY TRIP & THIRD ANNUAL FRIENDSHIP DINNER
May 27th - June 4th, 2005

This year, as a part of the “Bringing Cultures Together Project” (BCTP), HUTACA organized its first trip to Turkey. It was a one week excursion with a distinguished group of NJ public officials, religious leaders, professors, businessmen, and a representative of Uganda’s permanent mission to the U.N. SECOND ANNUAL TURKISH FESTIVAL OF NEW JERSEY
May 8th, 2005

HUTACA organized the “Second Annual Turkish Festival of New Jersey” at the Fairleigh Dickinson University Metropolitan Campus in Teaneck, NJ. It was not an opportunity to be missed for those who wished to spend a beautiful spring Sunday enjoying various fun activities with the Turkish American Community. Attendees had a chance to taste several homemade Turkish foods, such as baklava, manti, and icli kofte as they cruised from one stand to another, browsing for handmade Turkish art. They also stopped by the bookstand to check out the latest works, and to sip a cup of Turkish coffee.

TURKISH HANDCRAFTS AND FOOD SALE FESTIVAL
April 25th, 2004

HUTACA organized the “First Annual Turkish Handcrafts and Food Sale Festival” on April 25th, 2004 at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s facilities. Home made Turkish dishes such as Baklava, Manti and stuffed grape leaves were among the favorites. Attendees found a chance to carry home a variety of decoration accessories including handmade Turkish carpets and silver lanterns at bargain prices. There were 26 stands in total.

THE WORLD CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL

The World Children’s Festival is being celebrated annualy every April 23rd in Turkey with the attendance of children from all over the world.The Turkish community continues to celebrate this wonderful event even in the United States. FUNDRAISING
March 25th, 2005

The Turkish Americans living in New Jersey gathered on March 27, 2005 to raise money for the needs of our new headquarters. The program started with a cocktail and a video presentation of HUTACA’s past activities. A power-point presentation laid out the needs of the center from A to Z, and thanks go out to our Turkish American friends as they pledged their generous contributions. HUTACA feels obliged to convey our gratitude to all of our friends who made it possible to build a center together.

MOTHER'S DAY

About 10 of us, paid a visit to Teaneck Nursing Center on mother’s day. The idea was simple; most of the mothers in the nursing homes live far away from their children. We are all living away from our mothers, too. Really far away… So, who would deserve a red rose and some nice chat on mother’s day more than the residents of a nursing center?

THANKSGIVING – PALISADES NURSING CENTER VISIT

This year some HUTACA members celebrated the Thanksgiving at a nursing home. Thanksgiving is a special day that we submit our thanks to God for everything he has given to us.
